Graphic / Logo for business card and or website

I'm very new at this, and I'm really not sure what to expect, what the process is, samples, "proofing" changes, etc... so please bear with me. I do have a full time job, but need to make a little extra income on the side. I have a pickup truck that I'd like to put to work for me. I don't want to be in the business of "moving" people, but I believe there is a market for someone with a truck to run errands for those who don't have, but occasionally need a truck. I'm envisioning running errands which would include things like; Delivering plants, mulch, stone/rock, statuary, etc.. from the Nursery. Delivering 2x4's, plywood, lawnmowers, etc... from the Hardware store. Delivering appliances or furniture. Picking up items from a garage sale or Craigs List. Possibly running items to a dump. etc...
